It's Part 4 of our podcast series, Resources That Transform. For this episode we're sharing a highly valuable and transformational resource that is making an impact in the foster care system!

We are excited to share the good work that the Isaiah 117 House is doing to provide support, dignity and necessary resources for children entering the foster care system. Their work is providing dignity and comfort during a very hard, and highly traumatic process.

We were fortunate to be able to sit down with Indianapolis Marion County Expansion Coordinator, Sarah McDaniel, to talk about what the Isaiah 117 House is, how it started, and what their primary focus is.

A little more about Isaiah 117 House...

When children are removed from their homes out of concern for their welfare, they are usually brought to the Department of Children's Services offices to await placement with a foster family. This wait can be several hours to nearly a full day. These children often have nothing with them and are scared, lonely, hungry, and in need of a change of clothing. Isaiah 117 provides a comforting home atmosphere where children can wait in a place that is safe with friendly and loving volunteers who provide clean clothes, smiles, toys, and blankets (to name a few). This space allows children to receive the comfort and care they need while DCS staff do the necessary paperwork and find a good placement for them.

How to get involved in helping further the mission of Isaiah 117 House...
